AOS-10 Net-New Deployment Tool

Simulate the complete two-phase workflow for deploying brand-new AOS-10 access points. Assign APs to staging for OS upgrade, then move to production groups without Classic Central.

OAuth Authentication

Authenticate with Aruba Central using OAuth 2.0 credentials to access your organization's device groups and APs.

Aruba Central OAuth Credentials
Enter your OAuth 2.0 client credentials from Aruba Central → Settings → My Account → API Gateway
Demo Mode

This is a simulation. Enter any credentials to proceed. In production, real Aruba Central credentials are required.

Device Groups & Sites

Create and manage device groups for staging and production. Assign sites for geographic organization.

Phase A: OS Upgrade Staging

Assign 1 or many net-new APs to a staging device group. All APs will download AOS-10 image uniformly.

Select Staging Group
Pre-Provision APs to Staging (MAC or Serial)
Enter MAC addresses or serial numbers. APs will be assigned before they connect to Central.
Pre-Provisioning: APs don't need to be online or already discovered in Central. They will automatically join the staging group once powered on.
MAC Address: Format XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX (e.g., 00:0b:85:01:02:03) or XXXXXXXXXXXX (required)
Serial Number: Format CN + 12 alphanumeric chars (e.g., CNABCD1234EF56) (optional)
Workflow: Once connected, APs will automatically download AOS-10 image (unprovisioned → upgrading → online)
Format: MAC address required, Serial optional

Phase B: Production Assignment

Move upgraded APs from staging to production groups and sites. Apply production WLAN profiles.

Select Staging Group
Select APs from Staging
Choose APs to move to production. Can move APs while upgrading or when online.

Select a staging group to view APs

APs in any state (unprovisioned, upgrading, or online) can be moved. Production WLAN profiles will apply immediately.

Two-Phase Deployment Workflow

Understand the complete process from net-new AP discovery to production assignment.

Complete Workflow
Step 1: Authenticate
Connect to Aruba Central with OAuth credentials. Organization data is loaded automatically.
Step 2: Create/Select Groups
Set up staging group for OS upgrades and production groups for final deployment.
Phase A: Assign to Staging
Enter MAC addresses or serial numbers of net-new APs. Bulk assign to staging group. All APs download same AOS-10 image uniformly.
Phase A: Monitor Upgrade
Watch real-time upgrade progress. APs download image, reboot into AOS-10, join cluster. Track firmware version changes.
Phase B: Select Upgraded APs
List all APs in staging. Filter for "Online" status with AOS-10 firmware. Select which APs are ready to move.
Phase B: Move to Production
Choose production group and site for each batch. APs move from staging → production. Production WLAN profiles applied automatically.
Done: Online in Production
APs are now fully deployed, receiving production WLANs, and connected to their assigned sites. Ready for users.
Benefits of Two-Phase Approach
  • ✓ All APs get uniform AOS-10 image from staging group (no firmware mismatches)
  • ✓ Clear separation: OS upgrade vs production configuration
  • ✓ Easy rollback if AP has issues post-upgrade
  • ✓ Production WLANs applied only after upgrade is stable
  • ✓ Operator control at each phase (no full automation)
